For the 2011-2012 school year, Judo Canada is pleased to announce that it is accepting expressions of interest from parties wishing to deliver a unique crime prevention program for youth called the ECLIPSE program. For the past nine years we also expanded the program across Canada.
The ECLIPSE program is designed as a crime prevention tool that helps “at-risk” youth to manage their anger and aggression by: 1) improving their self-esteem, 2) helping them make better decisions, 3) helping them learn about respect and cooperation, and 4) building their communication skills.
Over the 12-week duration of the ECLIPSE program, participants are required to attend cognitive counselling group sessions and judo sessions each week. The ECLIPSE program has been so successful that some schools have incorporated it into their academic curricula while others have used it as part of their after-school activities.
